The Greatest Truth

Is not a secret withheld from view

Can you hear your spirit speak
Can you see your soul
Do you know what is inside
Or how to make you whole
Can you tell if what you are
Is what you’re meant to be
How do you learn to feel what’s real
Or learn to truly see
You must be willing to let go
Of the things you think are real
These are the things you now touch
That your hands can feel
In a couple years they will be gone
Your riches will fade away
Even you will one day go
On this Earth you cannot stay
But if you wait until that day
To see what you now can’t see
If you do not learn while you are here
You may find you are not free
You may be bound with chains of steel
That are even upon you now
Your soul may fail to flee this world
Because you did not bow
So close your eyes and look inside
Then look up and realize
That your soul is from above
Far above these earthly skies
You are a being so beautiful
Your soul of infinite worth
You were not created by accident
For a purpose you are here on Earth
There is place that some call heaven
Where God and angels dwell
We are God’s children
We lived there as well
God sent us to this Earth
Like Him we must learn to be
We need to feel what is inside
We must learn to truly see
The greatest truth there ever was
Is not a secret withheld from view
But if we cleave to worldly things
We will never know it’s true
For even if we hear it
With these earthly ears
It will fail to penetrate
It will not bring us to tears
Only those who learn to kneel
And acknowledge our God above
Will ever learn the greatest truth
Of the power of God’s love
Only then will we truly know
What is really real
Only then will we begin to see
And what’s inside we will begin to feel
