Beautiful Things

What are the things that Jesus does?

He makes beautiful things

He takes broken things like me

And makes a beautiful being

He fixes the pieces that somehow got broke

And puts them together again

He cleans and polishes until it hurts

To remove all the stains of sin

And then He stretches and pulls my heart

Until I think it might break

When I ask Him why I hurt

He tells me it is for my sake

I am making a glorious you

But it will bring you some pain

Your heart and soul still need to grow

If all God has you would gain

You cannot see what I can see

The part of you that’s divine

You do not know what you can be

If you will let Me make you mine

You are a child of God Himself

The greatest being of all

One day you can be like Him

Though now you are young and small

If you let Me stretch and pull

If upon Me you always call

I will help you learn and grow

Until you become strong and tall

There is so much inside of you

There is a greatness you cannot see

My greatest desire is to bring you joy

To set all that greatness free

I am the Savior God has sent

I am mighty and I can save

I paid a price to rescue you

My life and blood I gave

So now you choose the pain you bare

By choosing to let Me save

You can choose the pain of sin

Or the precious blood I gave

If you choose to bare the pain

That will come as I make you new

I will help you all the way

As you slowly become a new you

I will fix the broken parts

And put you together again

Then together we will walk the road

Where beautiful things begin
