A hug is more than just two arms
That encircle us around
A true hug says I love you
Without a single sound
When in the arms of someone loved
There is a warmth that seems to flow
When arms of love squeeze very tight
That warmth will sweetly glow
A true embrace of heart and soul
Can heal and soothe our pain
When we hug and say we’re sorry
Sweetest peace we can regain
A hug is more than a little pat
On the back from a quick embrace
A true hug melts away the cold
As the tears stream down your face
Have you ever hugged your pillow
When you knelt to say your prayer?
Has your pillow changed into a being
Who you felt was truly there?
The sweetest hug that I have felt
Has come on heavenly wings
And when the Savior holds me close
This song of love He sings:
“These arms that are around you
Hold all the heavens aloft
These arms that are so mighty
Are also warm and soft
Lean your head upon my breast
And close your teary eyes
Listen to my beating heart
And think of the starry skies
Can you see past all the stars
To where it all begins?
Can you see what I have made
Or where all creation ends?
My love for you is like the stars
Whose light goes on and on
Someday you will see those stars
And all that lies beyond
Remember Me and my embrace
And my song of endless love
My arms will oft enfold you
As you seek your God above
You will know when I am there
From the warmth that is in your heart
You can feel it even now
Though it is time for us to part”
The pillow once again was there
But the loneliness was gone
I knew the Savior had been there
For I had heard His song
His words had filled my soul with light
And with the warmness of His love
I had felt His sweet embrace
From the starry skies above
Now and then I go outside
On a clear and sparkling night
I try to see past all that’s there
To where there is no light
But it truly seems to never end
Just like the Savior’s song
And now I know that among those stars
Is where my soul belongs
