When The Last Ship Sails

Lord I know I won’t be the first
To sail heaven’s sea of glass
But please dear Lord I only pray
That I can set sail at last
I know that I am not worthy
To sail when the first ship sails
For my ship still is floundering
And is tossed by the waves and gales
I am hard at work with bailing
Trying to keep the ship afloat
But the waves are towering o'er me
My ship such a lowly boat
I know I can reach the harbor
Where that ship to heaven embarks
But for now I just envision
An ocean that is full of sharks
My faith in Thee undaunted
I know thou won’t leave me behind
Though I arrive after most departed
One more ship will I there find
I know thou will calm the waters
And send me a westward breeze
But even should my ship go down
You will save me from the seas
You will come to me a walking
Upon the wave’s next crest
You will bring me to that harbor
With all the others so distressed
We will find there is one more sailing
To that glorious sea of glass
For though I was once unworthy
I will sail with thee at last
